About the Library

The library is an essential component of MAS College of Pharmacy in Aligarh, playing a pivotal role in supporting higher education and research endeavors in the field of Pharmacy. Spanning an independent wing with a generous carpet area measuring about 3600 square feet, the library is a hub of academic resources and knowledge.

 

Collection and Resources:

  • The library boasts a comprehensive compilation of books and periodicals meticulously curated to cater to the diverse needs of students and faculty in Pharmacy.
  • It houses an extensive array of reference materials, including renowned publications such as the Encyclopedia of Pharmaceutical Technology, Indian, U.S., and British Pharmacopoeias, medical dictionaries, and more.
  • Subscriptions to leading national and international journals further enrich the library’s collection, providing access to the latest research and developments in the field of Pharmacy.

 

Infrastructure and Facilities:

  • Spread across a sprawling 400 square meters, the library features dedicated sections for periodicals, reference materials, stack rooms, and spacious reading areas.
  • With a repository of over 10,000 books and subscriptions to 26 national and international journals, the library offers a wealth of resources to support academic pursuits and research initiatives.
  • Theses of all M. Pharm. projects are readily available in the library, ensuring easy access for reference purposes.
  • The library also provides access to electronic resources through a subscription to Delnet, offering online access to a vast collection of e-books and journals.

 

Book Bank Facility:

Recognizing the importance of access to prescribed books, the library offers a Book Bank facility, facilitating the borrowing of required textbooks on a semester basis.

Operating Hours:

The library remains open on all working days of the Institute, providing students and faculty with ample opportunities for study and research.

The self-reading area for students is accessible from 9 AM to 5 PM, ensuring convenient access to resources throughout the day.

Web-OPAC Service:

To enhance user experience and accessibility, the library offers Web OPAC (Online Public Access Catalog) service, enabling users to search for books and journals remotely.

Through Web OPAC, users can explore the library’s collection using keywords such as title, author, publisher, subject, and accession number, from anywhere in the world with an internet connection.

Registered users can also utilize Web OPAC to check their library accounts, including issued items and due dates, as well as submit requests for required books online.
